My chemical darkroom is no more and I miss the smell of chemicals and to see the picture slowly emerging from the paper but I love my digital darkroom just as much. At least I can have a coffee anytime I like. Color and texture plays a big role in my life – whether it be in nature or man made.
Sometimes I am asked about my cameras. I bought my first camera in a pawnshop in 1977. It was a Minolta 303b with a 58mm f/1.4 lens. It was a great machine and I loved it. More Minoltas (secondhand) followed, because I wanted to use different films simultaneously. In 2000 I bought a Minolta 7 (new) film camera, which I still have and it is working perfectly. In 2004 I bought the first Minolta digital camera a DYNAX 7D which is still working perfectly.
I have never owned a color calibrated screen and the chances are that you have not either. Please accept my apologies if the color in the photos are not what you expect it to be.
