Death Valley is located in Eastern California and is located within the Mojave Desert. It holds the world record for being the hottest place on earth with the highest recorded air temperature of 57°C (134°F) at Furnace Creek. Very sparsely populated the valley is a photographer’s dream. Known for the spectacular colors in the rock formations which were muted by overcast skies during the two days of my visit it would be great to visit the place for six months to capture more of the many moods that is on offer.
A small community of Devils Hole Pupfish is found at Devils Hole in the east of the park. Highly endangered and therefore protected they live in a geothermal aquifer. To view the Gallery please Click the photo.
