Glacier National park is situated in the northern Rocky mountains of Montana. The Golden Tamarisk trees were just turning color and it was stunningly beautiful for me since I have never heard of them or seen them before. The Rockies are incredibly beautiful but our limited time there prevented us from exploring much. It was also the onset of winter as can be seen in the numerous frozen waterfalls which could be seen in many places especially on the Going-to-the-Sun Road which was closed from the summit to Saint Mary Lake due to ice.
We were however able to travel from Lake McDonald to the summit of Going -to-the-Sun Mountain. Evidence of glacier activity is clearly displayed in the photo of the ship’s hull shape valley.
