Yosemite, displays a grandeur that is not easily grasped. It is difficult to place the different elements in context because of the shear enormity of it all. There are a number of waterfalls in the park which covers an area of more than 3000 square kilometers.
The most impressive feature must surely be El Capitan which towers an impressive 900m from the valley floor in near vertical cliff face. Then again, on the opposite side and higher into the valley is Half Dome, equally impressive. The valley was formed by glacier action.
